David Shrigley "Drugs / Booze"
[Set of 2 guitar plectrums, open edition, 2010]
David Shrigley is best known for his canny, farcical and deliberately dysfunctional cartoon-like drawings that observe everyday fears of the human condition and conventional social matters. Finding humour in the bizarre and inconsequential with immediate and attainable appeal, his work often asks questions about the nature of contemporary art and its audience. He has had an international career spanning two decades with solo shows at institutions like Hayward Gallery in London and representation with Anton Kern in New York and Nicolai Wallner in Copenhagen.
